Gullveig in Norse mythology  is the sorceress and seer who had a great love and lust for gold. She associated with the legendary conflict between the Aesir and Vanir. In the poem Völuspá, she came to the hall of Odin (Hár) where she is speared by the Aesir, burnt three times, and yet thrice reborn.
